found it for sale..borg warner
j8433 OTC by Kent Moore...$200
doesnt include the jaws...J39431

was hoping for someone cheaper.

I'd let you use mine if you were local. Mine came out by hand so I didn't even need it LOL!

Seems like an easy thing to make like this guy did out of a 3 sided gear puller and 12 inch long metal strips with adjusting holes drilled in them.

A word of caution: be sure the jaws are well located in / at the root of the 5th speed. A chipped tooth is a common result of those who are not careful.replacement is the only solution after that.

i've used the one above a few times and its worked fine on all but one. like mentioned aboved it chipped because the gear was on way tight. other than that i dont see the reason to buy an expensive puller when you can make one that does the same thing

so . ah. ya . secure the puller pawls or you will be getting a new 5th/6th driven.

I machined jaws out of 3/4" thick steel..backcut the tip so it didnt touch the teeth...and made the puller.
Piece of cake. Thanks guys.
First gear is not in good shape
