Default Spec 5 clutch problem....

Ok just trying to get an idea if anyone is experiencing this same problem. I had this very same issue with the mcleod sintered iron clutch. they are both iron disc clutches only difference is the Spec 5 doesn't have the dampening springs...... when letting the clutch out there is a loud obnoxious screaching sound briefly until the clutch is fully engaged or if you feather it just enough it wont do it. Now im guessing that this is common with the iron disk clutch. or at least i hope. anyone else with this issue?

Default Screeching sintered metal

We sell a ton of clutches with sintered metal buttons instead of the full face friction like it sounds you have. I have always heard, especially from the 18 wheel truckers that there is a break-in period. You may be in that mode now. It will probably go away.

If not, another "fix" that works every time is to turn the radio way up.

I have a SPEC 5. Mine did the same thing. I have 600 miles on it now. The loud screach is now a quirk. It will get better.

Vince, how do you like the SPEC 5?

Any issues with it?

Did you use a Billet Flywheel?
