I will be replacing my stock clutch and hurst shifter this winter, and I was wondering what would be the best clutch and shifter set-up for running nitrous??? Thanks...Michael

I would recommend the CARTEK up to 450 ft lbs of TQ or so. Ive done two Carteks so far as well as two SPEC both carbon and kevlar. If your going higher TQ with a big shot...i used the CARTEK PP with a SPEC carbon disc and it works and clamps HARD. I broke my rear the first day i had it in. I could spray right out of the hole and it wouls till clamp quickly. Or check out the RAM stuff...heard good things about that.

If I was going to do it again. I would find the PN for the Borg & Beck PP that CARTEK uses , buy a SPEC carbon disc as well as the McCloed adjustable master and a new slave, resurface your FW. I think if you shopped around you could get all that for less than $500. But thats for racing mostly.

And I use the PRO 5.0 and love it!]

I will not be responsible for what clutch you get, it seems no matter which one you get there will always be someone who had trouble with the same one...but I will say

PRO 5.0 all the way!!

No matter what shifter you get...get a Lou's short stick with it. Guys that have one will back me up 100% on this. And Lou is the best about customer service.

I ordered one for my factory hurst and I didn't have a check book because I just moved to college. Lou took the price out of getting a money order off the price of the short stick...what a guy!

Thanks, these clutches are insane!!

Oh yeah, I have a spec stage 3 carbon and it honked like a flock of geese for the last 5 months. I was drunk a while back and let my girlfriends best friend drive me to taco bell. She has a newer 5.0 stang, anyway, she slipped the hell out of my clutch a few times and the sound has went away!! Hey, at least I got a pretty yellow pressure plate <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0">
