Ram Powergrip HD and billet fly are in!!
after a long hard day and many many cuts, im done installing my RAM clutch and flywheel. Many many thanks to ED for your help and moral support took way longer than it should've!!
First impressions.....this clutch rocks!!! about 15 miles on it and no chatter what so ever! grabs really good and the pedal isnt bad at all! feels better than when i installed my spec 3. as of now i recommend this clutch. Ill post pics tomorrow of what the old setup looked like. the disk was glazed...BAD!!! and the fly has been eaten through a bit. no bueno!

I liked my Powergrip HD when I first put it in... but after a few trips to the track, it was pretty much destroyed. 800 miles and 8 track passes is what it lasted... I hope it works out better for you... here's a few pics of what mine looked like when I pulled it a few weeks ago:
Hopefully mine was a rare case... fwiw, I have since switched to a McLeod Twin and am very happy with it. Went to the track and the damn clutch grabs so hard it broke the spider gears in my 12 bolt's Eaton HD. It's locker time now...

The only thing catching it and stopping the clutch from spinning were the rivets.

Tranzor, Mine did the exact same thing. I thought I was looking at my old setup when I saw those pics. To make things worse, the VDS that I replaced the HD with did it as well. Only worse. Alot worse. The pressure plate looked like it was cut down on a brake lathe. Funny thing about the VDS damage was the organic side of the disc was perfect as well as the flywheel. This leads me to believe that Ram is having some issues with their metallic setups.
I didn't have any track passes on either one. Both were broken in correctly and had mostly highway miles on them. Neither one had more than 3000 miles. All of this in about 4 months. Talk about a heartbreak.

I have over 4k miles of weekend warrior driving [garage queen] and probably 25-30 hard passes and still going strong.I have to think a large amount of clutch failures are from improper release height.I didn't ad shims or use an adj. master because the release point was and is perfect, thats the key IMHO.

I installed my HD about a week an a half ago and had some early engagement problems at first. Fixed that with bleeding the MC. I have had it for about 300 miles and it chatters bad. Hopefully it will go away.
