Default What Clutch Will Last The Longest????

I am looking into getting a new clutch. I want one that is going to last me a long time. I do not want to keep getting new clutch every 2 years. My car is a daily driver, see's the track 2-3 times a year, and will never go above 350hp. Any help would be awesome.

stock
most high performance clutches sacrifice life for power/torque capability.

There is a reason every clutch cannot handle 700hp

how much and where can I buy a stock clutch? I was looking at spec 3, but i heard there life is usually less then 20,000 miles. Also, my car is a daily driver and I dont need a racing, heavy duty, high horsepower clutch.

there is no way i would go back to a stock clutch. stock clutch = crap even though you go to the track 2-3 times a year might be all it can handle. at least get the ls6 clutch its a little better than oem

I would go with an LS6 clutch and 01+ hyfraulics (master/slave). That setup will drive excellent and should last you a long time if you stay at 350hp.

What exactly blew on it? Was the flywheel torched? Clutch worn down to nothing or pressure plate fingers bent or fatigued? How much did you race the car? 10,000k seems awfully low for a daily driver/occaisonal track run usage. Sounds like something is wrong there. I have 64000k on my original stock Z/28 clutch and it is showing zero signs of slippage or wear. Car is stock, no mods and always street tires.

Are the Nittos the same diameter as the stock tires? Or taller?

That is not the norm. Mine has 65k miles with 420 hp at the wheels all-motor, and a 150 shot every now and then on top of that. Granted, its slipping now, but that is thanks to the nitrous (I wasn't expecting it to survive that). It all depends on how you drive it.

Does the Z06 clutch kit come with a flywheel? Cause for $350 from LUK, I am getting a flywheel, pressure plate, Pilot bearings, clutch, release bearing, and clutch alignment tool. Does the Z06 clutch kit have all of that? And which slave do I buy. The Master cynlinder F-body 98-02, slave cylinder f-body 98-02, or clutch master cylinder y-body 01-04?????

For clarification

It was done in 2001 by the dealer. They reused the stock flywheel. I do understand that GM made improvements to the clutch since 01'.

However, some cars are better than others. For instance I still have the stock rear and tranny. But this is my 4th clutch. I do know how to drive; my 96 TA had the stock clutch after 80K and beating the snot out of it. I know different systems and all. My point is some cars have bad luck with clutches, some rearends, some trannies.

BTW, the clutch in the car is a ClutchMasters with McLeod adjustable master, drill mod and slp billet flywheel. 20K on this one, it most definately hooks. $1100.
