Same problem
I have the same problem. I just put a new ram power grip clutch in my '98 T/A and it acts like it needs to disengage just a little bit more. I can get it in and out of gear without grinding but it's hard, reverse is the worst. I have manually bled it like 100 times. I' gonna try a vac. bleeder on mon. I replaced the slave with a new factory one. Please any advise would be great I'm pulling my hair out over this thing.

reverse does grind horribly when i tried, so yes what is it, the cluthc bleeding? is it something else? T/O bearing (new slave cam with a brand new one on it) could it be the quick disconnect? I'm going back out there w/ a friend but i am trying to fdind trhings to look for so that maybe we can focus more so on the vital problem

so the reason the cluthc isnt backing off is due to the hydaulics system? that would be the only reason? or would it likely be something else? Try startign car when my clutch is to the floor and cars in gear, it tries to grab right away, dont know why even w/ the foot to the floor

I got mine bled out today with a 3 man operation. 1 in the car pumping the pedal, 1 under the hood keeping the fluid full, and me under opening the bleeder. It seems to feel ok just a little hard to go into reverse. I used a 1/4 inch drive ratchet with a shallow 11mm.

So would it be savfe to say the problem is the master cylinder? When pumping it it sounds like its bubbling or their is air in it. I do have opressure but not enough, cant start the car while in any gear even w/ the clutch down, car will jsut move. let me know because i am not in debate opf buying a new master cyl. since the one i have is 98

Ok so i bought a new master from GM it was pre bench-bled.Installed it then connected the quick disconnect w/o opening the bleeder screw. Could that have been my problem right there? There was WAY more pressure but still not enough to disengage the clutch from the gears. What is goin on?

Ok so i have a procedure NOW heres my other question
Thios relates to the Slave cylinder. When bleeding will there be a decent amougn of fluid that excapes into the bellhousing? because i seemed to have a fair amount that was ejected from the hydraulic system run into the bell housing. A mechanic i know said that if a clutch isnt disengaging it could be a cracked slave cylinder. Now i told him that when i had my trans pulled back when i first started bleeding, the throwout bearing flexed jsut as it should have. He said that means its probably notcracked, but since i put the tranny back onto the bellhousing i can not see it. what are the chances of the stock slave (a new GM one) w/ the stock shims and TO bearing being cracked and taking a Sh*t on me?

Anyone got any other advice/help before i set fire to this? Myself and a few close aquaintances fel the probelm must be lying with the slave cylinder somewhere. Air can be heard escaping when the bleeder is closed, will not gain more pressure and their is a hole lot of fluid in the bell housing
