Default Teach me how to drive!

So, since this is my first REAL manual car (My '99 was an A4)...I'd like you guys to give me every pointer and tip possible on how to drive this thing.
I can drive it just fine and dandy after driving my daily-driver Jetta for 2 years...but now I'd really like to know EVERYTHING for the new car! I just picked up a mint '02 M6 WS6 w/ nly 10k miles on it.
How to drive it right, quick and everything in between.

Give me some should and should not's
Tips for if/when I go to the track and for the street

Anything you can think of...let me hear it!

Also, I have to change this truck shifter...what shifter do you guys like best?
Pro 5.0, shorter handle on stock Hurst, etc.???

I love M6

The best way for you to get good with the car is to go out and drive the **** out of it. Get some wheel time with it and practice. Don't try to do anything fancy like speed or power shifting, just get familiar with it and learn to slam some gears.

As far as the shifter, IMO you cant beat the Pro 5.0 and a short stick. Alot of guys are running it and like it, myself included. Really makes the 2-3 shift easy.

lots of guys like the pro5.0 but it is a bit loud/notchy. Others including myself put in the hurst and a short stick and love it. it all comes down to personal preference.

as far as shifting goes make sure you do it quickly, I hate it when people shift their cars slow. when going from a roll try to rev match so it doens't kill the tranny as fast, and it makes a smoother launch from a roll.

Read his post! He knows how to drive a stick and wants to learn EVERYTHING he can about the new car. I provided an article teaching him something new, what did you provide?

As far as the shifter, I got the UMI short stick to go with my Hurst; love it.
