Default Swapping a 98 T56 into a 95 Formula

Does anybody know if a 98 T56 with work in a 95 Formula. Switched the front trans plate so I could use the external slave cylinder and clutch fork. But it seems like the input shaft is too long? any ideas? I thought about trying to switch the input shaft but I don't know if it can be done.

You would be better off checking in the conversion section. I know that the LS1 t-56 and the lt1 t-56 are a bit different.

You will need to swap the input, front adapter and bell to pull it off . This is ONLY true if the donor and old trans have the same ratio set. Ls1s are a 2.66 set and some early LT1s had 2.97 and 3.36 sets. The model tag will help desipher that.

The LS1 Input shaft is about 1" or a little less to long. You are going to have to replace the input shaft with an LT1. That is the only way unless you are going to have the LS1 cut down. Either way it will not work without the correct input shaft.

Thanks,
Amber

Thanks for the input on my question. I haven't tried to swap the input shaft yet figuring that the gear ratio was different and 4th gear comes on the shaft, from what I can tell. Where is a good place to check on getting a different input shaft??

All T56 input shafts are hardened BTW. And don't you let someone sell you a cyo treated shaft that is not made from different steel because it does nearly nothing for strength on the original. Well , it does lighten your wallet.
