Pro 5.0 question
I just replaced the stock Hurst shifter with a pro 5.0 shifter and I want to know if there is something wrong with my new. When the car is in the neutral position and I push it to the 1-2 neutral position it falls over and when I let go of the shifter for it to return to the 3-4 neutral positions it does not spring back like the Hurst did it just sits there and slowly comes back. When I push it to the neutral 5-6 position the spring feels strong. Is this a common with the pro 5.0 or is there something wrong with my shifter?

Is this a new shifter? It has a broken or omitted spring and is prolly used. There was an older post here that band-aid fixed worn/ broken 5.0 shifters but this condition is not normal on a new or properly functioning shifter.Get a refund.

Mine is almost like the stock Hurst returning to neutral. I've heard that a lot of people's 5.0s are lazy returning to the neutral position and there was a fix by putting a stronger spring in. You might be able to search for it. But hopefully they just exchange the one you have.

Mine did the same thing when I bought it new. I took it out and sold it. I was missing third more than with the stock hurst because of that. I didn't see the thread about how to fix it until after I sold it. Oh well, I'm buying a hurst billet plus sometime soon. I have never heard anything bad about them.
