It has corvette Internals. The 1st gear ratio is 2.97. Yes it has triple cone blockers and is a good transmission. It should be good short of 600rwhp like it is. You would mostly need a shift rail part to make the shifter work for an f-body. Cost would be less than $100 plus labor. It should bolt right up but I am not sure about the crankshaft hub thickness so do not 100% quote me on that.
Thanks,

Info on the SSR T56
Was looking into this transmission as well & found this article:
http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/08/a...andr-part-iii/
This was someone replacing a LT1 T56 with the SSR T56.
They claim the ratios are as follow:
Viper/F-body SSR
1st: 2.66 2.97
2nd: 1.78 2.07
3rd: 1.30 1.43
4th: 1.00 1.00
5th: 0.74 0.84
6th: 0.50 0.57
Also:
"With our engine, the deeper and wider ratios will result in a more enjoyable car. Second, it has double-cone synchronizers on all of the forward gears (the F-body box has that feature on only 1st and 2nd). Third, the SSR gearbox uses a stronger one-piece countershaft. Finally, it has a stronger 32-spline mainshaft (the F-body box has a weak 27-spline output, which we'd previously broke and replaced with a 30-spline Viper mainshaft). "
As to the shifter:
"When mocking up the transmission (using the empty case - it's about 100 lbs lighter and much easier to handle), we stumbled along one more difference - the shifter pad on the SSR tailshaft housing was about a half-inch higher. That means that our B&M Ripper shifter wouldn't fit, and we'd have to buy something specific to the SSR. Or, we could simply cut down the mounting pad on the SSR tailshaft housing. "
Unrelated, but I know the feeling after spending a year on my Supra swap:
"..eventually we might just install it and get a chance to drive the car for the first time in over a year. "
