M6 guys with a mushy pedal after a run
Does your clutch pedal get really mushy/soft feeling after a hard pass? Mine started doing this after I pulled the tranny out last week to clean some oil mess. It only got mushy after a hard pass in a couple gears, so I knew it was heat related.
The braided steel line between the master cylinder in the firewall and leading to the tranny slave cylinder was simply too close to the exhaust header. It was about an inch to an inch and a half from the header in my car, so I pulled it away and rerouted it as far as possible from the header. The problem was instantly fixed! No more mush pedal.
Give it a try, you might want to use some zip-ties to secure it away from the header.

I've seen guys post that their clutch pedal will almost stay down on the floor during a pass at the track. I'll bet it is the same issue, just a more extreme case.
My pedal was mushy/soft after blasting thru one gear (especially third) and it was hard to get into the next gear when it did this. I moved the line about 3-4 inches away from the header and the problem instantly went away.

I think I'll get under the car and fully insulate that line this week. Maybe cover the entire length with some split open rubber fuel line or something.

Tony I've been fighting this one from day one with my clutch. Is this the first time? I haven't seen you post about this before and I know we have the same clutch.

Dean, I've always been careful to route that line as far from the header as possible as a safety precaution. When I pulled the tranny last week, I was kind of careless about routing that line back like normal. It definitely affected the pedal firmness once it got hot near the header.
I drove the car for about 4 days like this (mush pedal) before popping the hood and moving that line away. Problem solved instantly.

My stock clutch sucks at the track...the pedal stays on the floor upon a feathered 2k launch...I drive 50 miles and everything is obviously hot when I run...the clutch is fine for everyday driving...I think I am gonna do some re-routing b4 my next track day...anyone have any pics of this done?

NineBall, That's the second time you've saved me either serious headache or cash if my count is correct. I definately owe you some beer. I'll be trying this tonight.

Thought I'd bring the thread back from the dead because I noticed how close
the line was to the header today
I was putting in my new LG torque arm and noticed the clutch line almost
resting on a header primary. I'll be insulating and moving it tomorrow.
