like the title says, Im running a stock clutch right now in my 99 and have about 390 rwhp. Im just curious at what hp you start to lose hp to the wheels due to the clutch starting to slip under wot.

mine started slipping when i had cam only at 383 rw so you will probably be needing one pretty soon.oh yeah,i also had a 150 shot to kelp out but with that much power it's only a mater of time.

It's actually the torque you need to be worried about (but a lot of people talk about HP ratings since HP is derived from torque).

Even on my car, my stock clutch showed signs of slipping with just bolt-ons at about 330-ish RWHP, 345-ish RWTQ, but that was from hard shifting on the street (but still on street tires).

I'd budget for a new clutch if you plan on driving it hard with that power...

On slicks, it will slip with a stock motor after about 4 hard passes .

Time is your true enemy. I forsee a clutch swap in your future. Bhaaa get a good clutch to ensure that problem wont arise. If you have the loot that is...

the ls7 clutch might me a great clutch for you.it holds decent power on street cars. i've heard it starts to fail at the strip however on slicks on hard launches with a pretty healthy motor but if you keep it on the street it should work out great.

The best I can see is not necessarily the cluth but who, and how it was installed. Seems to be a delicate procedure and if its not done right it will slip prematurely and if not broken-in properly will severly decrease the life. I see a lot of good and bad with clutches. Ive got the spec 3+ and it has worked for my application, but I dont take it to the track either just roll racin. Hope this helps and good luck.

my clutch went by-bye with my TDs/fipk/tune/and gs-d3s at 22k miles....i think the previous owner might have done some damage...maybe teaching his wifey to drive stick or something
