diffrences in T56 years
what are some of the diffrences and improvements from year to year with the T56, i looked through FAQ and through some thread titles but nothing really..
i know in 01 they upgraded the master cyl to fix early problems and also went to a LS6 clutch. are their any internal diffrences between a 98-00 trans and a 01-02?

the actual internals from the LT1 to LS1 are different along with the input shaft. call Joe at T56 rebuilds and he can tell you everything. the dude knows his stuff and the tranni they built for me has been the best 1000 dollars i have put into my car so far.

Its a little more tangled than that. The F car T56 started with carbon rings, went to paper and returned to carbon in the last year. The earlier 3.36 & 2.97 ratio sets had smaller face width gears(thinner) than the later 2.66 gearset. The clutch release systems were different- extrenal slave on the early cars/ csc on the LS1 cars. This release system change drove the input and bells deeper/ longer and requred a different front adapter for mounting the csc/ omitting the guide tube. The iron 3/4 was never original in the Fcar T56s( Vipers got it first in '98) but was avail in the aftermarket.
