Default Need a short shifter!!

I bought my car back in 03 and it came with a short shifter, but I don't know what kind it is. Anyway it feel like you have to be very precise in shifting my car when racing. I was a shifter that would feel SMOOTH. What's a good short shifter?

Nah I don't think so because I drive my friends and my cousins 02 WS6's and the shifter feels smooth, but it has a long stick. I want something with a SMOOTH row into gears..They have the stock shifters

look around in the forsale section. people are always selling their stock hurst for pro 5.0 or somthing of the sort. the stock hurst is exactly what your friend has in his 02 WS6. slap a short stick on that and you got what you want.

Is the Pro 5.0 smooth like the stock shifters?? Mine kinda "clicks" into gears.

no pro 5.0 will be notchy. just like the B&M ripper and other aftermarket shifters. the stock shifters have a rubber gromit in the shift mechinism that makes them smooth and gives you the feel that it goes into gear twice, with the aftermarket shifters its either in or out. no inbetween.

you would probably have to take it out and look at it. obviously if you want a stock hurst and you have driven one with a stock hurst you dont have the stock hurst because it feels different, anyways, i wouldnt worry about it untill you have your new shifter ready to go in, then when you get the old one out, look it over.

It feels really good compared to stock. It takes more effort to move the gear selector into position - but it always seems to find its way where its suppose to go.

Also, I'm not sure how the LSS compares to any of the others. LSS is the only one I have tried.

The Pro 5.0 is kinda notchy though, but it feels really great. Like stated above it clicks going into gears. Its either in or out - not in between.

Mine is the opposite. I have the stock hurst and it is real notchy but my friend has a Pro 5.0 and his is smooth as butter.

First off, check to see what kind of shifter you have. It's probably a stock Hurst.

Your problem could be your transmission. I've had my stock Hurst, and a B&M, and it doesn't matter: my transmission doesn't wanna go into the next gear at high RPMs. I changed shifters a few times before realizing this.

So now this winter we're pulling the tranny and rebuilding it, and probably adding a Pro 5.0.
