You will need to change the bell housing, front plate, input shaft and slave cyl/throwout bearing.

I can take the bell housing off my tranny and use it on this one correct? What do you mean by front plate? Can you elaborate on the imputshaft and slave cyl throwout stuff?

If it is an LT1 bellhousing you will need to change it. THe bolt pattern on an LS1 & LT1 are different. THe front plate is the plate that the bellhousing (and slave cyl) mount to.
Do a search, you might find someone trying to do the opposite swap as you.

'93 and '96 are both LT1s, so he won't need to change anything. It will bolt right up. I believe some of the '93s had different ratios from the 94+ T56s, zo6 and GTO gears I think.

Looks like this tranny would give me some more grunt as well, seeing as how the gearing is shorter in first second and third...

Although the gearing will give more"grunt" as you say those boxes have a lower torque rating= 350 ft-lb vs 400 for the later ratios.

True, but hear about a lot of people running 5-600rwhp on stock t56s without a problem.
