Default Q about poly trans mount

I just installed a Energy suspension trans mount today on my M6 and am getting too much vibration. I drove it and around 2500-3500 RPM is some vibration I don't care for(like a wheel out of balance). I noticed when I intalled it that it was a little bit taller than the stock, so I just figured It was knocking my pinion out or something, but still does it while just reving up. I've heard of people taking out the preload plate out and grinding the bumps off. Does that get the height down to stock size? I relize that there will be some vibration with a poly bushing, but I didn't expect this much. Let me know what you guys are thinking! Thanks

It seems to be a very common problem with the poly mount. We don't use them for that very reason. Bob

I have the Energy Suspension poly trans mount on my LS1/M6, and its been fine for me. Hardly any vibration, certainly nothing like what you are describing.

Seems like most of the vib issues come from the autmatics with the poly mounts, strange that you are having an issue with the poly on your M6.

Do it. Also, give it a little time to settle as well.

Poly trans mount here as well as poly engine mount. E. S. tell's you not to grind those bumps down and to use the pre-load plate. It also goes on there facing one direction. Absolutely no vibration here at all. Make sure you installed it correctly. How beat up was your factory one?

Its in there correctly, but I did use the preload plate and didn't grind the bumps off. My stock mount is just fine.

Well if you dont like the feel of the Poly then I'd swap it back out. Its a quick job. No sense in not being happy with your ride.

1LE mount

I got mine for $11.99 on sale at GM Parts Direct years ago and it's been holding up well to countless powershifts
