Default MN12 in fbody???........

well im trying a lil experiment. im going w/ a gto (mn12) tranny,i already have 4.10s in the rear. so by my calulation, it would be as if i had about a 4.30 gear in the car.

this way i can get my t56 built and be a pro-shifted car w/ 4 gears.

hopefully this turns out great, mods/times in sig.

any input would be great.

thanks

You can not pro shift or faceplate the corvette or gto gears. There is not enough material on the gear to do so. The stock gto setup shifts very fast and smooth. I have a gto tranny in my 2000 camaro street car, and I must say i like the way that it shifts in stock form.

it does, the gears in the tranny are different, the same as a c5 z06 tranny.

yeah more less a direct bolt in. the little shaft inside the tranny, that the shifter goes into has to be changed.

Could you pm me with some more info on this? Do you have any GTO cores laying around or will you accept my T-56 as a core in exchange on one. Money permitting ill try this, or else I think im gona try a faceplated unit.
