Default McLeod Master Cylinder Bad AGAIN!

Ok I am on my 4th McLeods master cylinder for my car and all of them have leaked, broke or just not worked from the first second that I got it put in my car! I'm finished with them now and I want to know where I can get a different aftermarket master cylinder for my car.

thanks

I called them around 6 my time and I talked to one of the top guys there and he had no clue that there was a problem with the product and well I told him how sick I was about all the crap and he felt bad and I guess he's going to look the new part over before they send me ANOTHER one but I'm just sick of all the lies and crapy parts!

thanks and good luck with yours
the 1st one I had lasted about a year then one day it just sotped working
the 2nd one didn't even work
the 3rd one didn't work either
the 4th one lasted about 400 miles and it's pooring fluid all over the carpet in my car right now!

all I have to say is that this could cause tranny problems b/c they seem to go out while I'm in town and I can't just leave my car stranded so I have to drop everything that I'm doing just to get my car home and get the truck.

I've been through too many T56s to keep using their master. I will continue to use their clutch but the master has to go.

Guess I have been lucky too. I havent had any problems with mine, and installed one in a buddies car and his is fine too. I thought there was another company that offers an adjustable as well. Maybe it was RAM but I cant remember for sure.

A company named CNC makes Mcleods masters. http://www.cncbrakes.com/cncbrakes.c...oup.asp?grp=mc

I have had mine go bad as well, I just rebuild them myself, they seem to hold up much better. I keep the fluid clean & no problems anymore.

But a stocker made adjustable will suit most every clutch set up just fine.
The ram is a stocker made adjustable, look up the thread in here for the modification thread for stock masters.
The rod end on a McLeod is also a good piece to use make a stocker adjustable.

Well I got mine in about two or three weeks ago and it works then it doesn't I will have great pressure then I loose half of my pedal then it's like I have too much I don't know what all is going on. I have tryed adjusting it a couple of times to see if I could fix the problem that way but it doesn't do any good.

Ram also makes an adjustable master cylinder. Check out TSP, I believe they carry them.

I haven't had any problems with my Mcleod master yet (knock on wood), but you're making me nervous now. *Fingers crossed*

I know exactly what your going through because I am going through the same thing. The first one I got bled down on me and now the new one is doing the same thing. I let them know that a hell of a lot of people are having problems with them and they werent even aware of any problems...SOME COMPANYS SELL A REBUILD KIT WITH A NEW MCLEOD MASTER!! And you say there is no problem??? Yeah their customer service is horrible as their masters. Leave a message and they dont call you back at all. I am burning my mcleod and just going for a Adj. Ram. I imagine everything will work just fine then.

Good luck man

i had the same problem. My mc went bad sometime in september. Called some vendors and there was a 4 week wait on the rebuild kits. ended up calling Mcleod and they said to send it to them so they can rebuild it for me. A month later this guy calls me and says we dont rebuild them here. So after that i wait another week so they can see whats goin on & why the rebuild kit didnt fit the original master i had. I get a call from them a couple days later and they send me a brand new part. when the weekend came i found out that the braided line that was on it was clogged so i called back and asked if they bothered to replace it and he said no. So i place an order $90 bucks or so for a new braided line. A week n a half later i get it, and sure enough its the wrong line. I call back and they tell me to return the line so they can send another one. A week & a half later i get the line and now its the right one. All in all i bitched about this piece being ****, i had to pay for shipping even to return the wrong parts they sent me. I just installed it and so far so good. But i know how you feel cause theyre customer service sucks & they seem to think that their parts never go bad. If this master ends up screwing up im just going to buy a stock piece and leave it alone. good luck
