Default Drill mod question...

For those that know about the drill mod; I will be getting a new master cylinder (as well as a new slave) both from the newer improved LS1 years, and I want to do the drill mod as well. Is this something I can drill into the new Master cylinder while it is out of the car? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes the master has to be out of the car to do it. You will need to disconect the line from the master. The end that goes to the master is the side with the restrictor in it.

Here's a write up on the drill mod.

No, I'm pretty sure its the master, not the slave.

The end that has the restriction is on the master cylinder side becaseu the slave side has the quick disconnect on it.

Heres it the writeup from Install University:

It should help you out. Note that they are installing a new adjustable MAster Cylinder as well, thats not necessary just to do the drill mod.

So, just to confirm things here, the actual drilling for the drill mod goes into the new master cylinder? Or a line that is in your car that goes to the master cylinder?

its the end of the line that goes into the master, it has a roll pin holding it place.
