During the Month of June, SixSpeedsInc.com is offering free shipping, if that is the reason you don't want to ship.

I couldn't have had a better experience thusfar than I have had with Amber and the crew at SSI.

If you just don't want to ship it for the sake of not shipping it, then I have nothing to offer you, sorry!

In the baltimore area I am not 100% sure but I do have a customer out that way that builds them. Call East Coast Supercharging. I have built several of theres but I am sure they probably do them in house or know someone close that can help you. Shipping it doesn't always work well for some.

Well, I guess everyone is suggesting sixspeedsinc. My headers won't be here for another 6 weeks, and won't be able to install heads for another 4 weeks. So it looks like it is gonna be at least 2 months before I can put the motor in. How much of a PITA is it to ship a trans. I know I can't just take it to the ups store.

Default Go to the SixSpeedsInc.com Site

They have a Help & How To section that makes packing a T-56 real easy.

Does S.S.I. have a pre-built core charge/exchange program?? That way one could get their ride back on the road quickly without wasting the turn around time as down time. This would greatly help those whose f/y bodies were their ONLY car.

I do. It is my 4A package. Sometimes it can take 4 weeks or more depending on how many we have on the list. Right now we are about 4 weeks out going that way.

Thanks,
Amber

Nothing to it, just call/e-mail/PM SixSpeedsInc and they will set you up.

Believe it or not, you can buy the "crate" they suggest at your local Wal-Mart/Target Store!

Bud I sent my Tranny out on June 18th, I live northwest of you about six hours in Greenville PA, which is a hour north of Pittsburgh. Just go to Lowe's they have a real nice 45gallon container for our trannies, and the one I bought was 22.00 and a little change and it had wheels, so Its easier to move around, easy to pack, free shipping, and guess what, my tranny is already on its way back, it went out on the 25th of June, and it has a 12month, 12,000 mile guarantee,up to 700rwhp, and 700rwt. This is the way to go, I called forty tranny shops, and only two would work on mine, but they said that is would be there first one to do, I said oh hell no. It only made sense to go with someone who has enough experience to rebuild my tranny, that's why it went to Houston TX. THis would be my advice to you. DoubleK
