Sure you're fkd, but there is always a sliver lining..... You just have to remove the transmission, buy the remote bleeder from a sponsor on here, install it, reinstall the trans, bleed the system, and you're back on the road!

You're not as screwed as you think. All you have to do is loosen the tranny bolts holding it to the bellhousing, pull the tranny back a bit, and use a pen magnet to fish out the socket/bleeder valve. You probably won't have to completely remove the tranny, just loosen it a little. Then, just screw the bleeder valve back in the slave cylinder and bleed the system for air. You are using an 11mm or 7/16" socket, right?

Another member did the same thing a while back. I think he removed the starter and fished it out with a magnet. Think it was just the socket tho... Good luck

Man, I would never cut a hole in my floor.
I changed my slave cylinder in less than 4 hours, start to finish. This required removing and reinstalling the transmission.

Of course, I'm a tool junkie and I have the experience.

Cutting the floor of the car just makes the hair crawl on my neck......

bro the same thing happened to me i thought it was the end of the world but it really isnt that bad ....you have to get some string and a small pen magnet break the tip off and bend it so it stays on the string and do some fishing it takes a little while but when u pull it out and that little pos socket is on their its the greatest feeling haha and then u throw it against the wall and never bleed the clutch again without a mityvac

FYI, bleeding with the mityvac sometimes causes the seals in the master to blow out. Since your going in there anyway, just get the remote bleeder.

Your car is done for, I will tak eit off your hands for a case of beer! Seriously, it could be worse. If the socket is still stuck to the bleeder screw, you may be able to fish it out, although it is going to be a nightmare getting it back on the slave without cross threading it. Good luck!

maybe if you just take the starter off you can get your socket and bleeder out that way. or at least be able to fish it up to the hole it fell into easier.

I don't see how a mityvac is going to cause failure of the o-rings in a master, OEM, McLeod or otherwise. Perhaps someone had a master that was going just prior to getting bled?

I did all three of those last night and I wasn't even pissed.

Good luck, man. Fun only goes so far when faced with all the problems and the fact that our cars aren't as good in the quarter on the strip. If I weren't adicted to the M6, I'd get an auto.
