Default still having clutch problems

here's the setup first. stock hurst w/LSS mcleod twin disk with mcleod master, 00 slave ( 6k miles) when the car is cold the clutch pedal feels soft and has play in it. also the shifts are somewhat sloppy. car is hard to get into reverse also. once the car warms up to regular temp problem goes away.

does anyone have any ideas here?

this was when it was in the 40s and high 30s. but just regardless if the car is just started up for the day it will do it till it gets to full temp. ive check the res.and its full of fluid.

McLeod master for sure.
Mine does the same thing but not that excessive.
I usually pump the freeplay out of it & it is fine.
I have also rebuilt mine/ honed out the master etc. Then keep the fluid clean with perodic flushes, it helps.

I've got the same problem, just rebuilt the McLeod master, bench bled it AND mityvac'd it. Still have play in the top for about an inch or two and high rpm shifts are hit or miss; many times it won't let me go into gear. Is it time to replace the master? I was going to replace the slave in the spring thinking that was the problem but if I don't need to pull the tranny I'd rather not. I may just go back to a stock GM master if I replace, I have the drill mod done since 2002.

You need to adjust that freeplay out to a minumum. You need to leave a little play in there, but this will help your problem.

How? I mean the engagement point can move because it's adjustable and all, but I didn't touch it when i rebuilt it, it stayed at the same point.

If you adjust it to get the freeplay to a minumum it will get the fluid flowing that much quicker once the pedal is depressed.

That is what the real adjustability in the master is for, not tailoring the pedal release point.
Leave alot of freeplay in the pedal release is low & high rpm/quick shifts are more difficult or impossible.
Adjust all the freeplay out & you are riding the slave on the pressure plate w/ varied amount of pressure during driving.
Kinda like riding the clutch a tad if you will, so a little freeplay hot in the pedal is a good idea IMHO.
Read the stock adjustable master sticky, in the first post at the bottom, there is a adjustment recommendation.

I have heard mixed results using the stocker w/ the twin disc McLeod.
I wouldn't want to find out the hard way IMO. I would rebuild the master.
No matter what your gonna need the adjustability in there, the stocker wont give you that unless you mod it.
Is it adjusted up right now? Have you tried to flush the fluid??
