Default ws6 store short stick + umi handle? no workie

Okay, I bought the ws6 store short stick for my car a while ago and it works great with the stock ****. Recently I just got a umi pistol grip black handle for the car and it threads great, but when its tightened down all the way it doesnt face forward. If it is loosened to face forward, it's too loose to shift with and will spin.

I know with the stock **** there is a bit of play with the **** when it is fully tightened so you can adjust how it faces, but with the umi **** there is no play, and the entire hole for the stick is threaded, not just the upper part.

I believe if I were to thread the stick a bit more it would work, but it seems like there would be an easier way. has anyone else had this problem or a similar problem? the handle looks sick and I want to use it soon, it feels nice too, but I want to shift with it! help please.

try a really thin piece of plastic like a washer on top of the stick.

I had a similar problem with my WS6 short stick but with the oem shifter ****. I simply installed a washer or two on top of the stick, then installed the **** and got it in the right position. You'll need to use washers of different thicknesses and a bit of patience to get the **** in the correct position.

Exactly what these guys said. Either washers or small circles of paper board works well too.

I have a hurst pistol grip and the WS6store short stick. I didnt need to use any washers or spacers, my Hurst pistol grip has a jam nut so you can tighten it any way you want.

okay I'll try the washers, thanks for the help guys. Although, I think I may eventually thread down the stick more, to make the handle go further down.

btw thanks for the replies, but I ended up using some teflon tape and it did the trick. I tried washers but I didnt have any small enough to fit in there, but the teflon tape was the best and has the feel that I wanted. so if anyone ever does a search. umi pistol grip ws6 store short stick teflon tape. btw those were all keywords.

Hello,

Sorry that I am just now seeing this.

Like mentioned, Teflon tape is the best way. Also did you receive the nut that came with the shifter handle? That is what we use to hold it in place.

Thanks!

Ahh ok, thats why. We supply a small nut with them that you can tighten against the handle to keep it from moving.
