Slave first or master
So in the write up it says to replace the master cylinder before the slave if your having problems.. when i took it to the dealership they said it was my slave.. is that because my warranty doesnt cover just that and its $750 and they want money or what? because im thinking they should replace the master cylinder first which is covered.. what do you guys think?

Probably bad seals in the master. When my pedal got shitty, like 3" of play. We put in the 0z700 and new slave and the pedal still felt bad. Put the new master in and it fixed the problem. And there were no visual leaks.

if you have basic automotive skills you can easily replace both for about 350
there are so many writeups available that diy should not be a big deal.. pm me if you need some help deciding if you can diy or not. i can also tell you where to get the parts (sdpc) if you want

I have 82k on my 04' GTO and still on stock clutch, master and slave. I was just thinking about a way to test an internal leak in the hydraulics before I read this thread. Why not start it, put it in gear with the brake OFF and see if it creeps (maybe have to sit like this for a minute or two), if it does or is hard to put into any one gear or another replace the master/slave. Whatever's cheaper. I have some issues with my car that may be an internal leak or just the fact that this is the first car i've driven with a t56/mn12. I'm personally not spending any time dicking with it and am replacing clutch/master/slave and installing remote bleeder and stainless braided clutch line.

Replace them both. Me and my buddy had the same exact problem. I replaced the slave first and he replaced the master first. Niether one of our cars were fixed. We both had to buy a master and slave after that. Its not long after 1 goes out that the other will go out.
