"Hmmm...

2001 master cylinder – 12570277
2001 slave cylinder – 12565145 "
the part numbers changed, *EDIT* they changed it again. the latest number for the 98-00 style cyllinder is: 12570343
do not use this cyllinder in your car. it's been the source of many of mechanical problems in my own personal car. GM is showing a part number change for these as a 12570343, but do not use this cyllinder!
the cyllinder all of you want carries the number 15046288. the diffrence is easily distinguished, this one uses a 7/16" bleeder, while the other (12570304 = bad) uses an 8mm.

Re: p/n for 01 master, slave
Vents,
So sounds like 15046288 is the most current slave for the F-bods. Have the master and clutch/pp/flywheel kit changed as well? I'd like to update my info if so. Thanks

Re: p/n for 01 master, slave
fulton,
you're right, 15046288 is the most current part number for the 01- cyllinder. however, it had better be marked as such. my computer here at the dealership shows that this number changes over to a 12570343, which is the inferior 98-00 cyllinder. as long as the box has "288" or "145" on it, your good to go. i had 2 on the shelf, and thats the only way i would have known.
12570806 shows as the clutch, PP and flywheel for 01-04.
12570277 shows as the slave master w/ reservoir (man thats spell'd stoopid) for 98-02.
