Default problem removing clutch master cl

http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...tar_washer.jpg

I cant seem to get it off, its like stuck, the metal plate that goes over the star washers. I can slide it but not much at all because it drags the threads on the bolts. eh

Take a hammer to the bolts. The MC will pop right out then.

Replacing the master can be pain.

I know I just recently did it twice along with everthing else clutch related.

You have to get the star washer off and the metal plate is very
difficult to get out of the way.

You have to pry the metal plate out of the way.

I also removed the master cylinder bolts on the brakes to make more
room under the hood. Just moved it off to the side a bit.

I say leave the plate alone so when you install the MC it will line up again. The star washers will either stay in place or fall out.

Thats what I had to do until it got caught right on the end of the bolt, just get a punch and smack it through. I also had to bend that metal piece back in order to get it out was kind of a PITA.

ah i got it. Suprisingly only one of my bolts had a star washer?? weird. But i got the bracket off of the one bolt that had the star washer.. got the washer off.. put the bracket back on that bolt, then slid the master out from the engine side. I already had my fluid drained so I took off the resevior and pluged it with a bolt and a clamp so no fluid got anywhere cause the line had to go under the brake fluid resevior
