Default 6.0 Install with T56, What is different from LS1?

I have a 2003 6.0 out of a 3/4 ton truck, I want to hook it up to my T56 out of a 2001 Transam. The 6.0 has a flexplate, I need a flywheel, Can I use an LS1 Flywheel? Or even an LS7 flywheel and clutch setup?

Yes. Yes. Don't forget a pilot bearing.

So is all Gen 3 clutch and flywheel stuff interchangable? What about weighting and balancing and such? Will I lightweight LS1 flywheel and anyother Gen 3 flywheel work without issue? I know Gen 1's had some odd interchange BS.

I'm using all gen 4 ls1 parts and hardware for my T56 conversion. If you're talking about a light weight aluminum flywheel, I don't think those are for street use. I went with Centerforce 12 inch (not the 11 inch!) Dual Friction Clutch and steel flywheel.

All Gen III/IV engines are internally balanced. Neither the balancers nor the flywheels have any added weight. It all interchanges. You can use any flywheel that is made for these engines. Don't be afraid of an aluminum flywheel.

Are you guys sure? I went to install the ls1 flywheel and clutch and the clutch wont disengage because the ls1 crank sits flat to the rear cover and the 6.0 has a lip outside the cover which makes everything a inch or so further completely compressing the slave and putting pressure on the PP disengaging the clutch.

That Spacer is like 1/4" to 3/8" from what I've seen. There should be a way to take it off..
