Centerforce DFX first 200 miles wow!
I just wanted to post up some info on the centerforce dfx clutch I installed a couple of weeks ago. Wow I'm really impressed with the clutch! I installed it with a new GM slave, LUK master, and centerforce flywheel. The pedal pressure seems to be stock feeling and the clutch grabs like a ****. It seems to be street friendly and I would recommend using it to anyone wanting a good quality clutch. This is the best clutch I've had so far and this is the 3rd clutch this car has seen. First was a spec it was garbage, then I had a CF DF was a great clutch and saw about 60k miles and now the dfx with my new motor.

I also have the DFX...you don't see a lot of information about them in the LSx world, but everyone I know with a Cobra has one and is more than happy. I have about 9000 miles on mine and it's never missed a beat. I do miss the pedal pressure of my Ram HD, and I like the chattery clutches like that, but the DFX has been a great clutch.
My car makes 412 rwhp, recently added 315 drag radials, 11" wide wheels, 9" rear end with 3.50 gears, and a steel driveshaft so I have added some additional stress on the clutch. It takes 5k launches without a problem, pedal never crashes, clutch works just like it should.
I have it with the Fidanza Aluminum flywheel as well.
The only thing, I'm considering switching to a dual disk set-up to handle boost a little better so I've been considering selling this clutch/flywheel set-up while it's still good.
I would definitely reccomend this clutch for the DD or heads/cam car.

Possibly a dumb question, so, please excuse my ignorance...
There's no balance issues or balancing involved w/ these clutches like I've read about in other threads in regards to the regular DF clutch is there? Also, which flywheel are you guys running w/ the DFX?
Thanks.

I run a Centerforce SFI approved fly wheel.
On a side note. A friend of mine and I installed are clutches at about the same time. He installed a RPS $2000 dollar twin disk clutch, and harassed me for installing the CF DFX!.... Long story short, his clutch went bye bye on 10/11!

You can use your stock flywheel as long as its surfaced AND balanced.
Thats what Will at centerforce posted on the forum a few months ago.
What I'm wondering now, is if i need a shim or not because the flywheel was machined.

I'm not a big fan of my DFX.... I've got a clutchmasters stg III clutch assembly. My disc got oil on it, so I had a DFX disc put in it's place.
Seems to grab and hold great. But the chatter and slight sqeal I get when slowly feathering engagement into first is getting annoying...
my clutchmasters disc was much more forgiving...

Have about 2000 miles on my setup now and still going strong! Looking to get at least 50k out of the DFX here. My chatter is minimal on my car. I used all new hydros and new centerforce flywheel. I am so happy with this setup

That was what I was running before the DFX. Held up great! I had like 60k on it with a bolt on car. I just replaced it when I dropped the new motor in cause I wanted something a little beefier.
