Well from the previous posts you should be able to see everyone has their personal favorite. All shops seem to have a "following" so you probably couldn't go wrong with any. Call around or visit the shops, see what "vibe" you get from them. Ask for a price quote, and a time frame on when they can do it. Then make the decision for yourself. My .02

Any new shops in the area? looking to get back in the scene and need some work done. I'm new to the area and don't really know anyone. I have heard of speed inc and straightline. speed inc seems to be close to me, but seems to be a bit pricier.
i need a some bolt-on's installed and a basic tune.
i also would like to take it to a place where the guys are patient with noobie questions, since i don't know much about our cars.
thanks

HOLY! 06 Batman.lol jk Speed Inc. would be my one and only choice! Pricier..maybe. That is totally negligible when it comes to their Superior customer service, Quality of work and down right care of the customer. You should go see Tony and the guys at Speed Inc.

Check out Speed Inc. I didn't buy a new short block but I did have mine cleaned, forged, blue printed and balanced. All that other good stuff and picked more power and torque along the way.

Speed Inc hands down. Can't go wrong with them. Located in Schaumburg right off the Elgin O'Hare. These are the only guys other than myself I will trust my car with. Staff up front & in back is very personable as well.

I've been going to Speed Inc. since 1999.
The other local shops are very good, but I know that Speed Inc. has been modifying, building and tuning LS engine-powered cars and trucks for over 15 years.

My car is at straightline performance and those guys can fabricate and not to mention, they do take the time to hear you out and explain everything to you in detail and not only that but like for me that I'm 1400+ miles away, they keep me up to date on progress of my build not only by phone calls but with lots of pictures. Hands down straightline Performance
