Default Wheres a good steak house in chicago

besides a yuppie place like ruth's chris etc. It has to be somewhat close to the trainstation area or something so that I can get back and forth to it. Navy galley food gets old! I want a steak!

i dont know about steak but i always like going to Dick's Last Resort when i head up there. I think they have steak, its more the atmosphere i go for. Its pretty cool. Cheese Cake Factory is cool as hell too. So is Hard Rock.

WTF is that. I am from Texas, 500 Madison means nothing to me

We have Dicks and Cheesecake back home, not much to brag about!

I can get a 20-25 ounce with baked potato and salad etc for $20-30 tops!!!!!

here it is the same price for like a 10 ounce steak. Then you have Chilis and Fridays which always suck

well I couldnt find any at the time so we went to a pizza place I went to after graduating bootcamp called Pizzeria Uno. Place has some good pizza. I am from Texas, I wont go to some yuppie douchebag place and spend $40 and a steak. I want to walk in and smell meat, not flowers. I like to see peanut shells on the floor and country music playing. I might have to check out the Chop house. But that link above is not my type of place. I will look into gibsons as well since so many recommend it. What is the average at gibson's? I usually can go to Saltgrass or Texas Land and Cattle and get a nice steak with all the trimmings and a couple of beers for around $30

run down has nothing to do with it! Im not some suit and tie douche, I'm a military man from Texas who doesnt like spending $50 on a meal because it comes out looking all pretty on a sliver platter. Why would you spend 25k on a Camaro just because it has a prettier color and rims when you could spend 19k on the same car and stock rims?

Make sense. Like I said, back home there are places like those, but they steaks aren't any better than the ones I go. Also I read a few reviews and Lawry's got some good remarks, besides the no appetizers and it isnt all fancy. Some of the fancy places got bad reviews on the taste...

Lone star sucked. Good chili, but they steaks were small as hell for the price. Guess its a Chicago thing and I cant wait to get out and back down south where I can get a good steak, beer and barbecue. Although the pizza here is the best I have ever had, Pizzaria Uno freaking rocks

There really aren't any steak places like you are describing in downtown Chicago, most of the steak places tend to be a bit pricey, but that's due to the fact that most folks are looking for a great steak in a fancy place not peanut shells on the floor like Lonestar Steakhouse...

Mortons is nice, but pricey. I have never been to the Chop House I will have to try it and see what I think... I like to go out for steak a lot.

I'm a fan of Brazilian Steakhouses so I would reccomend Fogo De Chao. If you have never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse before, its all you can eat meat and they just bring it out of 3 ft knives and cut it straight from the slab. Excellent food, but be prepared to eat a lot cuz it runs about $50 a person.

Yeah, I go to Fogo de Chao on LaSalle once or twice a year.. good times. With a coke it works out to like $40 for lunch.

There is a Morton's on wacker not too far from the train station. I walked there from the train station with my gf. I also recommend Gibson's, had an awesome filet there.
