looking to do something different (i know people have done it but you dont see many around) but what i am planning on doing this winter is puttin a 408 w/ a procharger set up on a 1999 mustang. i am wanting to run somewhere in the mid to low 800hp. i was wondering what procharger, h/c i should look into and if you can give me any other info i would appreciate it greatly.

Just do a stock stroke setup, maybe go .030 over on the pistons. You don't need big cubes to make power with a blower...Especially if you're only wanting around 800. We'll be making way more than that with a Vortech blown 306 next season.

Just go with a good bottom end and some AFR 225's. A sheetmetal or EFI-converted carburetor intake would be the way to go. **** that FAST junk. And a standalone efi(Fast, BS3, AEM, etc.).

If you're sticking LSX Based, you can make a decent amount with a stock crank/ forged rods/pistons set up and have a 347. You can't bore them .030. A set of nice LS6 heads with a procharger and a front mount and she'll scream. I wouldnt buy an off the shelf kit with the little intercoolers. Grab something that's going to let you fab up a front mount. You don't want a fast style intake, you can do a victor JR with an elbow or just an LS6 style intake.

I was figuring you were going with an LSX or iron 6.0L block when I said bore it .030 over.

Cubic inch will always make more power. You just need a bigger blower to shove more air in there. A D1SC on a 347 will be capable of 700 RWHP. A F1R with a 408 will make a few hunder more to say the least
