first kill of the season! 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500
I decided before I rip my car apart and install the new go faster parts, I would take a cruise in my z28 one last time with my gf.
I was cruising north Randall road back towards Algonquin when I see a 07 Shelby Cobra GT500 (white w/blue stripes)turn left off of rt72 going north on randall.
Once my light turned green I decided to catch up to the car. I caught the cobra at a red light, we both rolled down the window and complimented eachothers cars. The cobra driver said he wouldnt race at that light because of cops.. BS once the light turned green he nailed the gas, so out of delay, he was 3 cars ahead of me, then I punched it and reeled him in by the time I second gear and then passed him. I shut down, then he did a ricer flyby. We get to the next light and the dude says "ahh man sorry I lost, lets run again and he introduced himself"
Now we are infront of Algonquin Galleria (bad spot to race too many cops but the roads are great right there plus 6 lanes). Light turns green we both take off and the gt500 lost. Next light, he compliments my car again and was really cool about.
Much respect to the cobra owner.
on a side note, its feel good beating a new 500hp SC cobra, with a 2001 bolt on + cam m6 z28 with a bad clutch and stock rear for now!!!

A buddy of mines ran today at union grove and he has a GT500 with full exhaust, pulley idler, tune, intake, upper and lower control arms, after market heat exchanger and nittos(which suck). He ran a 12.3 at 120 on a 2.1 sixty foot he is changing to mickey's but they are on back order. With a good launch a low 11second car maybe high tens? But good kill for you, its hard as hell to hook 575rwhp. On the streets no traction at all from a roll though they are sick.

thanks bro. I'm sure we will see eachother around again...
I did a google search and found that gt500 are dyno(ing) about 420 to 430 to the ground, weight about 3900lbs+ and run high 12s at the track...
yeah the weight is defininetly hurting those cars, plus I am curious to see their stock setup dyno graph to see how much HP they make per rpm. The cars look very weak throughout the rpms

Nice Kill Man!
I just saw a new GT500 at the bank last weekend for the first time, and I waited for like 15minutes for the owner to come out. But he/she never did....I wanted to see how well it ran too! But maybe I'll get lucky enough to get a run in with 1 as well!
If high 12's are all they are running I might actually have a chance on the street.
