Default AF Reserve or Navy Reserve???

Well I have two more semesters to finish my degree and I have really been thinking about joining a reserve unit. For awhile I wanted to join full time but do to some other things in life like getting ready to get married. I decided to just join the reserves. Just wanted some feedback from some of the guys who are currently serving in either. I have looked at doing time in San Antonio, Shev, or Ft Worth. Job in interest include something mechanical or admin. I have two brothers and best friend who currently serve in the Army, Marines, and Navy. So I have some knowledge going into to this, just wanna little help on my decision. Thanks!

.

Navy. Great tech training. Think about it, if something breaks in the middle of the ocean, you can't run over to supply and get a new one. We were very well trained.

So what about the option of not leaving for boot camp with the Navy? Just going straight to your duty station for training.

thats not even an option. everyone has too go to bootcamp. they have have to train you in the basics of how the military operates and whats expected of you. but most importantly how too work together as a team. also the navy reserves have jobs that are offering a 20k bonus. The airforce is going thru a huge drawdown.

AF has been on draw down for years now. But I spoke with a recruiter at the Navy office and he was telling me about a program to where you do not have to leave for boot camp. Whether it's true or not doesn't matter to me. Honestly I like to going to boot camp option, was just a thought. So what jobs are offering nice bonuses that you know of?

he might have been meaning leave for bootcamp right away. Everyone goes into delayed entry program which is shortened too dep. Everyone goes too bootcamp.
