20 Picture Shoot: SRM CCW GTO (56K Suicide)
The Car:
2006 Spice Red Metallic GTO
The Camera:
Nikon D80 10.2MP dSLR w Nikkor 18-135mm lens.
The Wheels:
Complete Custom Wheel (CCW) 505As, 19x8.5 w 245/35s (F), 19x10 w 275/30 (R), no rolling or cutting fenders, no rubbing
The Story:
Normally I dont include a story but the ending on this one was pretty good so I'm including it this time.
I did a quick detail job on the car and of course it starts spitting rain just as I finish... but I was bound and determined to get some shots. Or so I thought. After two hours of driving around running from the rain and trying to look for a place to shoot with clear skies I give up and head back to my place which it had finally cleared up over... so I think it's not an ideal backdrop but I head to the local park to get some shots. I get there, start shooting, and not 5 or 6 shots into the shoot I hear a "splat" on the car twice then feel one on my shoulder. "Great, quarter sized rain drops... no wait... WHAT THE HECK!?!"
Thats right folks, not rain. After two wasted hours and finally getting a location for some non-rain shots a nice little bird decides to crap on my roof, my back window, and my shoulder! "You gotta be kidding me!" I had been pretty mad about Mother Nature's cruel sense of humor thus far but after this I just had to laugh. I pressed on and snapped these shots as I haven't gotten many daytime pics of the car. Not the best locale but you guys will have to deal with it as it's all the weather allowed.
Some of these were set-up shots, some where just shots I snapped playing around with camera settings that came out alright.

Very sharp looking Goat! I still can't believe people say that it's a ugly car. Each to his own I guess. Is the car lowered at all or is that stock height? And I hate to be so **** but why no tire dressing?

Larry, I just ordered and received a set of King springs from you guys for this car. Looking forward to getting them on. Should really set it off with that nice raked stance.
The camera body is around $1,000 and the lens is another $400. Usually you can find it in a package deal for $1,200-1,400 depending on where you're buying.

Thanks guys.
Zero aside from cropping them to the composition I want if needed, resizing them to 900 pixels wide, and adding the border. I dont have Photoshop so I'm very post processing limited. I can work with levels too but honestly I trust my camera to process the colors correctly over getting on my computer which I dont know if the monitor color is spot on (seems darker compared to others) so I just leave them alone.
