Default warranty question

I need to go in to get my window fixed, cause it stops when rolling it up then starts back up again after a couple of minutes. Anyways, I was wondering do I need to return it to stock form or does it not matter since Im going in for the window. Talking cutout, predator, MTI LID.

No way .. I used to roll up with my car Cam'n headers .. No cats loud as all can be .. still got my car worked on .. Brake rotors, MAF was replaced. The only rule is, if the mod broke it they aren't going to pay for it.

This all really depends on the dealership and the service department you go to. Some live by the void it if it's modded law, some don't care.

there is a law against them being able to do that. I can't think of the name of it, I think it is The Magnusson-Moss Act....Read it and you will see.

Disclaimer: All products sold by Performance Motorsports Technology Inc. will not void or affect the factory warranty in any way. This is a very misunderstood subject in the aftermarket consumer circles. There is a law protecting vehicle owners from just this sort of fraudulent behavior practiced by some automotive dealers. The Magnusson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade commission Improvement Act of 1975. Under the Magnusson-Moss Act, aftermarket equipment that improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer’s original warranty, unless the warranty clearly states the addition of such aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicles warranty or that the aftermarket device is the direct cause of the failure. The easiest way to check this is to look in your owner’s manual under, "what is not covered".

This is it-read!!!!!!!!!

out of the warranty book:
"what is not covered"

DAMAGE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT,MISUSE, OR ALTERATION

DAMAGE CAUSED AS THE RESULT OF THE FOLLOWING IS NOT COVERED:

COLLISION,FIRE,THEFT,FREEZING,VANDALISM,RIOT,EXPLO SION,OR OBJECTS STRIKING THE VEHICLE

MISUSE OF VEHICLE SUCH AS DRIVING OVER CURBS,OVERLOADING,RACING,OR OTHER COMPETITION. PROPER VEHICLE USE IS DISCUSSED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL.

ALTERATION OR MODIFICATION TO THE VEHICLE INCLUDING THE BODY,CHASSIS, OR COMPONENTS AFTER FINAL ASSEMBLY BY GM. IN ADDITION, COVERAGES DO NOT APPLY IF THE ODOMETER HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED, ITS READING HAS BEEN ALTERED, OR MILEAGE CANNOT BE DETERMINED."

theres more on the other pages so beware. they can void your warranty for clear corner lenses by the sound of it.
good luck

No thats riduculus cause the shop has to make money.
Most are self reliant meaning just cause the showroom
sold 10 vettes doesn't mean the shop made money.
They won't turn you away cause your windows are tinted
or cause you changed the radio. THEY NEED TO MAKE MONEY.
If your window needs fixed close the cutout and they
won't ever know-how would they your car isn't going to
be lifted up or the engine even looked at to see a minor
induction change. Thats a cover their *** statement, sort
of like don't take the tag off the pillow.
They know that if they turn you down the next dealer will
make the money to pay their technitions and the dealership
doesn't want you making a new connection to somewhere else.
like all business its about repeat comsumerism

i understand that its comes down to the real world. im just saying if you rub them the wrong way they can deny it. in todays market when cost cutting is so crucial that if a repair is x-amount of dollars you can believe a gm rep is going to that dealer to look for away out of it.

for a window motor? no biggy. but they have the ability to keep records so you just dont want them to see to much.

to error on the side of caution is always the best in my opinion. if its simple mod removels play it safe. if your auto ***** the bed and you have a large stall just hope you got a stupid tech or that he loves f-bods.
