If you have a harbor freight in your area I have these two.

I try not to buy too much from them because alot of it is junk but these jacks have held up well for me and they are low to the ground.

I found that with any standard non low profile jack I have to drive my car up on boards to get the jack under it. I just bought an AC Delco 2 ton jack kit with two jack stands from O'Reileys for 50 bucks. Can't hardly beat the price and it'll work for now.

That's the jack I have, I got the package with the stands. I like it alot. A little more pricey, but it's a nice aluminum jack. The picture on that page kinda sucks, but you can check it out in their catalog (if you want to wait for a huge download)

^^ if you need to jack your car immediately and you don't have a low profile jack, get a friend to grab the car by the fender and gently lift it, while you stick your factory jack under the body. always worked for me. good luck

I've had 2 sears jacks.. both went to crap on me within a couple years. Oddly the only Jack that has actually lasted is a cheap small jack I bought at Autozone in 1994. thing is beat to hell and keeps and going. Next Jack I buy is going to be a much more expensive and high quality one.

I also hate that as well. that is why I ended up making a nice wide pad for my old cheap small jack. Its nice also because this pad gives extra clearance as well as being large.

That does look really similar. I'll have to take a closer look. The only differences I saw was the one I bought is 2-ton and has a max height of 18" - neither of which is that big of a deal for the cost difference.

I work for SPX (who owns OTC) so I got it wholesale
