Need to know what Flywheel to get! LQ9 to T5 trans!
So i have a 5.3L LQ9 (is that right?) from a 02 chevy 1500. Im doing a motor swap into my Rx7 and found out that the T5 Flywheel doesnt bolt to the crank of the LQ9 motor.
Which flywheel/clutch combo do i need to use to make this work?
Thanks for the help in advance guys!
(will a LS1 T56 flywheel setup work on the LQ9 crank?)

You will need a ls1 f-body flywheel, and pressure plate. The disc you will need to match to the splines on the trans. If its a v8 t-5 it will be a 26 spline, get a clutch disc for a 87-92 iroc 5sp.

Let me clear a few things up for ya here..there is a good bit of mis-info here..
A T5 will NOT directly bolt up to a LS Block..Bell Housing is completely different, aswell as the Input Shaft. That and neither will a LT Clutch go onto a LS Flywheel..different bolt pattern..as in the Clutch is too big for the LS Pressure Plate.
Also, even if you did manage to bolt it up you will kill the T5..they are junk.
Go with the LS1 T56 Setup, it will bolt up to what you have.
You already got your Engine figured out..but for the rest of ya a LQ9 is a 6.0l Iron Block with 317 Heads, found in the Silverado SS, and the Escalades. It's identical to an LQ4 6.0l(found in the 2500HD's), just the LQ9 has flat-top Pistons for higher comp.
An LS2 is an LS2..there is only one type..all Aluminum 6.0l, 243 Heads.
Now an L76 is an LS2 Block(6.0l) with factory L92/LS3 Heads, and L76 Intake.

That is why I said LS1 flywheel AND pressure plate....disc for what ever spline trans you go with. Done many s-10 swaps like this. T-5 v-8 bellhousing will bolt up! Why wouldnt it? You can run a th-400/350 behind an ls motor, you just need a converter spacer but the bellhousing pattern is the same as the t-5(minus one corner bolt)
I know the v6 t-5 trans (87-92 camaro/s-10 2.8) has a longer input shaft, so you have to cut 9/16" off the shaft to get your pilot depth right. But the actual v-8 (car/camaro t-5) with the removable bellhousing will work.
If you were to run this set up..... A STOCK 5.3 would problly break a t-5 in about a month. If you are racing the car, it would break the first time you got it to hook up.
So...I personally wouldn't reccomend it.

Yea the Bell Housing may bolt up, but you are forgetting that the LS Pressure Plate is a Push-type, not a Pull Type..?
Yea you can bolt the V8 Bell housing to it all day long, and where will you be.. the same place if you had a LT1 T56 and were wanting to bolt it to a LS Engine.
See what I mean..it's not as simple as an Auto.

The pressure plate is always a push style no matter what type of vehicle it is...you are thinking of the hydraulics. The lt1 pulls on the out side, but has a pivot lever/ball inside to redirect the pressure. Nothing actually pulls the pressure plate away from the flywheel.

Slave pushes into the Fork, which acts like a Fulcrum and pulls the Throw-out Bearing which pulls the Fingers on the Pressure Plate, which pulls the contact point(I think its called the Diaphram) off of the backside of the Clutch.
No ****..it's bolted onto it..I have installed them before once or twice..I think one was in my car..
