Default Exhaust help, dont want to make a costly mistake

I have an SLP Loudmouth 2 cat back, sounds good when you're pulling away but it's so quiet cruising around town (in london thats all you really get to do) I was thinking about getting a QTP Electric cut out, would love to have long tubes but from what i have seen in videos, when you let off the accelerator its really raspy, perhaps mid lengths would solve this? Can't really afford to get the wrong set up as everything bulky i buy from summit racing has a $400shipping fee!!

Thanks

eh, IMO open headers sound like a dump truck when your just cruising. If you want something loud and also sounds good get long tubes and true duels.

I've never heard them other than in videos, are mid lengths a waste of time? or do they add a little more sound? Bit worried long tubes might give me clearance issues with all the speed humps here

I think this one sounds awesome, but whats the sound when he lets off the gas? dunno if i'd want that all the time.

either do LT's or don't do anything. No point in doing mid lengths, power gains aren't worth the hassle.

The op isn't going for any power gains as stated he wants something louder with a great sound i.e. no rasp....last season I had stock exhaust system with a cut out and it sounded pretty good (not that loud though)...going with lt's this season but don't have the car running yet so I couldn't tell you the results...also they are power robbing but flowmasters always had the best sound...the new 44's they just came out with I don't know what there flow charts look like so they might or might not be the best bet for flowmasters...

it sounds like his RPMs were still high when he let off, it was probably a 6 speed and he didnt throw it in neutral when he was done getting on it causing his rpms to stay high and make that noise

LT's and true duels sound good. I get the "raspy" sound between 2500-3200 RPM though.

Agreed on the LT's. And FWIW a lot of guys have had issues with QTP cutouts. I had a DMH on my LT1 car that worked flawlessly for three years....
