Rear End Gears- Worth It Or Not?!!
Ok so i have 3:23's now, i bought the Motive 3:73's and rebuild kit for my rear end, i hear its about a 4-6 hour ordeal to put them in, should i just resell them and not worry about it or would it make that much of a difference in the overall performance of my car and be worth while to do, most of the driving i do is around town and i quite often get into little 30-70 mph roll races with ignorant Honda drivers, who all has done this swap and do you feel like it was a worth while thing to do? what kind of 1/8 mile ET gains am i going to see?

From 323 to 373 ,, eehhh ,1-2 tenths in the 1/8 , tops . Probably not worth it . Take a look

A stall and tune will do wonders for an automatic though .

I went from 3.23s to 3.42s and the only thing I got out
of it, was even less ability to hook up. I'd say a good
converter will do a lot more for you, and get the dumb
factory shiftpoints straightened out for a more drivable
(pedal proportionate kickdown) setup.

I wouldn't bother. You'll see about .1 ET reduction.
Sell the gears, buy a stall. I never understand why people want to do gears before a stall. I wouldn't even swap out 2.73s before I did a stall.
Also, "3:23, 3:73" etc. are not correct. It's 3.23 and 3.73. If you want to use the ":", then it's 3.23:1 or 3.73:1.

I believe an aged 10 bolt freshened with a rebuild kit, behind an auto will last a long time. The stock bearings get awfully sloppy after some miles, and I have seen them go out with hardly any abuse. So, yes IMO, its worth it for the gear swap and freshening the rear end at the same time. Nice tight, new bearings will take a lot more abuse.

its worth it. if anything....the seat of the pants feel will put a smile on your face. your 60 will only drop a lil but it makes for fun street driving. and with the 4L60 it puts the car into its powerband quicker. you already have the parts...so stuff that **** in there and have some fun. and start saving for rear tires.

Puttin some gears in has it pros an cons, I believe that most of them have been posted already... I got 373s and I also got a stall, since you have the gears I'd put em in but you most deff want a stall soon they are high but worth it an alot of fun. When it comes down to it, its your car, your choice

Put that same money into a stall if you don't already have one. If you do, then there are still several other mods more worth while than a 3.23 to 3.73 swap for similar money (like headers, drag tires for the track, suspension, etc.)
