Depends what you are doing with the car? Is it your DD or a weekend play toy? What else is done to the car? Post up or shoot me a PM and we can get you setup with a combo to get you where you want to be!

We need to know more about your car and what you plan to do with it. I would personally go with the LQ9 block because of the potential to take it out to a stroker later on, but that depends on your plans for the car. Let us know and we can offer some more advice.

Things you need to swap over from your busted LS1
-intake, TB, fuel rail & injectors (if keeping the stock intake)
-oil pan, windage tray, pick up tube, dipstick
-water pump, ps pump, alt, balancer
-motor mounts

Things I would do to it if I were you before you swapped it in
-bolt on L92/LS3 heads & LS3/L76 intake
-custom cam
-1 7/8" long tube headers

That right there has the potential to be a ~470rwhp car.

Much more expensive too. I too would preffer a LS2 over a LQ9, but LQ9's are much cheaper and easier to come by.

Just use a LS6 intake for now. It won't stretch your budget and it will work very well. The LS3 intake can only be used on LS3 heads.

Here on tech. I bought a set of 0821 heads for 650 shipped with rocker arms and stands. You can find 0823 heads for the same or slightly cheaper.

Hey guys quick question, I'm getting the lq9 motor , the l92 heads and l76 intake with supporting accessories , and headers I'll save the cam for a later date due to the fact I want to get a torque converter with a bigger stall before I go with a cam , what type of power gains will I be lookin at with the lq9 , l92 heads , l76 intake and headers using my ls1 cam for now ?

My other backup Option is to go with a brand new crate ls6 if I can't find a decent lq9 with decent miles
