Default T56/M12 differences from Vette and F-bodies?

Is there any difference in the 6 speeds in the Vette's as compared to the Camaro's?

I'm looking at swapping my auto for a 6 speed, but want to make sure it goes smoothly. I did searches on here for the M12, but no info.
I know the T56 and M12 have different gear ratios, but I want to know if a Vette tranny will bolt up with no problems to my '99 camaro.

Thanks.

Will bolt up with no issues. Also last time I checked for C5's the M12 was only in the Z06 Just a FYI so I would research if there is any identifying marks on the case.

^Thanks.
Yeah, I did see that the M12 is only in the Z06.

I can get a good deal on an M12, just needed to make sure I wouldn't have problems with it.

So even though the C5 has a transaxle, you can hook up the trans. to an LS1 in an f-body?

I'm pretty sure the housing is different with it mounting straight to differential not a drive shaft

The GTO has an m12 also, the z06 is not the only one with it. If you use an m12 from a GTO you are gonna need to swap the GTO shifter cup for an f-body shifter cup(click on the link for more info about shifter cup). If you use the bellhousing from a GTO you need to use a GTO starter(expensive), or you can modify the bellhousing for your stock starter. In my opinion its better to just buy a GTO starter, they are better starters then the f-body ones. Another choice is to get an f-body bellhousing, that way you can use a regular f-body starter. This is all you need so you can use an m12 on your f-body.

^Thanks. I have been reading on a few different forums to figure this out. There is a lot of conflicting information. But I would imagine using the GTO transmission is probably going to be a better idea, if I decide on an M12.
