Alright so this last weekend long tube headers, TSP true duals, and an slp lid went on my 2001 camaro SS

other than that the car is bone stock.

What is next in my quest for speed? DR's, subframe connectors, and a cam were what I was thinking...

But will just a mild cam on stock heads build 450-500hp?

just how I am now, what do you think my hp is at the crank?

thanks guys

also the car is an A4... so im guessing a converter should be added to that list

if u get a cam ur gonna need a converter imo, also dont forget ur supporting mods, rods, springs, lifters, complimentary heads. I like 243 heads .

tires are important, dont forget to dyno tune

Just to address this, at the crank, you can get up into the 450'ish territory with just a cam. At the wheels, probably not, you're going to need to invest in some heads.

As for the next couple of things, I would do some SFC's and probably some DR's if you don't daily drive the car.

If on a budget: SFC, torque arm, LCAs, then a cam (ms3) is your sticking with stock heads, then you'll need some valve springs and rods, converter, and some 3.73 gears. can find good used items in the classifieds.

If money flowing out ears: all the above, except go with custom grind cam, some stage 2- 2.5 243 heads, FAST intake & TB, 12 bolt or 9 inch rear. all that should put you in the 400-450 whp range, depending on the combo you put together and your tuner.

or just throw some damn n2o on it and GOOOOO!!

consider EPS cams.the 222/226 cam with all the supporting valve train up grades can get you 390+ rwhp.ls2 timing chain and good springs and harden push rods.

First thing you need to change is the convertor. Second thing is If you still have a 2.73 rear gear ratio then I would install a set of Yukon 3.73 thick gears. Those 2 will make a world of difference. You also gonna need a tune. After that definately get SFCs and then figure out if your ride is gonna be mostly a daily driver or just a weekend play toy. Are you gonna run nitros? All these thing will affect your convertor and cam choices.

I would agree with NC98z, a converter should be your first upgrade, with a good transmisson that can hold over 400hp you dont want to be breaking a tranny on your DD.
