Default I just bought me 99 TA and need help with tranny issues!!!!

Hey there im newbie on ls1.. I just traded my xtreme s10 for 99 trans am 2 days ago. Here my problem the motor is running great it had auto tranny.. I can drive it around but i have to manually shift the auto to get it to shift. If i stop and put it on D then drive it will shift 1 and 2nd but not 3 or od.. I found local guy that have 4l60e out of 99 chevy suv. Will it fit my 99 trans am?? need help asap! Sorry if my english aint too good im deaf so have patient with me.. Thanks!!

Let me know if the suv tranny will fit. Also lists what vehicles will fit trans am.. Thanks

Sorry for the loss man. Basically most 4L60e's should fit, I would check in the automatic section.

Have you taken it to a shop??

Before you purchase a new transmission I would highly recommend you have it checked out by a reputable shop. Just in case its something that can be fixed for a relatively inexpensive price compared to purchasing a new transmission.

Yeah i was thinkin to take it to transmission shop but my budget is limited right now since christmas is coming up.. The tranny i found in town would trade instead pay cash. That is the reason why i am doing all this..

I decided to go ahead go tranny shop and have them tell me what exactly problem is then ill know what to do from now on.
