Default What's the best sounding exhaust?

I'm in the process of buying an LS1 WS6 and I need to know...which one sounds the best!?! That is one of the most important things to me about the car I want...the sound! I was thinking about SLP loudmouth, but somebody says it sounds sloppy and that its just a loud system without cats. I want a real deep, clean exhuast sound. What should I go with?

Do you plan to go with long tube headers in the future? If so I would go with GMMG, Hooker, SLP Dual-Dual, or Magnaflow. If not I would go with GMMG, Hooker, or Loudmouth.

get long tubes and a 3" true dual setup under the axles, no doubt about it. best sounding and most power.

It really depends if you want it LOUD or not. I have Borla and it is fairly quiet compared to many other choices, but you can adjust the sound with 4 interchageable plates and it sounds great. Borla + headers and Y-pipe =

GMMG and SLP LM are by far the best soudning while stock headers y-pipe and cats...with headers ive heard that GMMG and Hooker are the nicest....I AM SO VERY VERY VERY SURPRISED!!!! THERES ONLY ONE GUY ON THIS THREAD THAT SAID TRUE DUALS?!?!?! lol...i would say GMMG but the price is up there....dont kno if youd like that since your jsut puurchasing the car it sounds like...SLP LM if no headers....i heard MAGNAFLOW has a nice catback also...great flow great sound with headers...i believe only 350!!! i love my SLP tho considering GMMG otherwise mayb making my exhaust...DYNOMOUTH with LT's and cats so i get rid of as much rasp as possible if not all....but thats if i go for LT's

Cool

Granted Opinions will vary
BUT !! no matter what set-up you run if it includes **mufflers** theres nothing that equals the sound of chambered style mufflers.GMMG is the most popular for the newbies of the last 10 years. They Ruled 20 years ago on many GM Muscle cars from the factory.EPA killed`em off which sucked.
LM- sound like a dump truck
Borla-Rich mans cut-out
Corsa - aint bad at all, easily tops the others,Bad *** Tips no doubt
GMMG/Stainless Works Chambers have NONE of the issues or sound resonance deficence`s the others have as common traits.
Just listen to them and its as clear as it can get.

Not my $.02 Because TO Many people Also Agree !!

And i will 3rd that vote Borla is the only catback that u can change, so if its to quite, run it wide open (how I run mine) and if its too loud, put a plate in

An electric cutout in the I-pipe can do that better/cheaper. Quieter when closed, louder/deeper and better-flowing when open.

Check out www.ls1sounds.com to get an idea of the tonal quality of some of the different systems that are out there. Keep in mind though, the loudness won't come through as much when listening to sound clips. You can get an idea of the deepness/tone if you are listening to clips on a decent speaker setup though, just make sure it has a good subwoofer.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

The best thing to do is try to find people around you that has what you are interested in and go listen for yourself. I heard several before I decided on GMMG.

with stock cats and manifolds, a DYNOmouth (loudmouth with dynomax bullet subsituted in) sounds AMAZING....i have it with my longtubes and its LOUD AS ALL HELL but it sounds about 85737485568969 times better than a regular loudmouth with longtubes....MUCH MUCH less rasp...
