Every shop is different. I would call and ask for an estimate. Most dont charge for estimates now a days. I am sure a shop here in Texas would be cheaper to rebuild than a shop for you in CA since our cost of living is lower for the most part. Just a thought. Good luck with the rebuild!

You can try rebuilding it your self. If you have good mechanic skills and patience I dont see why you cant do it yourself What tranny are you talking about>

Nope, its probably pretty crappy. Never had to deal with it from the ocean l, always been the desert for me to coordinate from. Still, at least email some shops. They would be the best to get you a quote.

I'm looking to do the same. There is a t56 manual online you can download and print off. There are write ups on here as well. D&D performance up here in Michigan gave me a price of $400 for tare down and rebuild. That did not include any wore out parts or shipping.

i wish i was still in the mitten the cost of living is less there for I'm probably gonna pay a little more being in So Cal and all i think I've resolved that when i drop the tranny to replace the clutch I'm gonna open it up and make my decision from there.

It was built by a top race tranny builder in the area. Good friend of mine, and they pulled it out early, rebuilt it, full warranty. Was done in a few hours. I don't see the problem? Has a few thousand problem free miles.

I am sure some of the vendors here carry them. There were a bunch when I googled it.
