Default headers

I am thinking about investing in a pair of headers for my 2002 trans am.
I am going with long tube but do not know what brand to go with.
Not looking to spend too much but also dont want any junk.
Need opinions

I've known a lot of people that go with pacesetter. Great bang for your buck. Get that and a 3" y-pipe and your good to go

I would get this:
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-294-pac...e-package.aspx

Of course there are other vendors, but I really like the look of TSP's Y-pipe:
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-293-tex...ad-y-pipe.aspx

But no matter who u buy from, I would def suggest Pacesetters as your brand for headers. They fit excellent on my other TA and they did not break the bank. About the only downside of them is that they are not stainless steel so they will eventually surface rust.

BBK LT/ORY combo, shipped to my door for $360 (add $100 if you want coated).

Quality is great, fitment was perfect (slid right up without any banging or grinding), and clearance is better than stock.

I was thinking of BBK's as well. Where did you get them for that price? Best I found was $389 from ws6store.

I have Pacesetters, if I was doing it again I would probably go with Texas Speeds Stainless 1 7/8 headers, good price and a quality part.

I have pacesetters on my truck and love them. A little rust in Texas is no biggie to me. The stainless headers on my Beemer turned blue. What are you going to do?

I have OBX stainless, bought them used for $200 and had local muffler shop make me a custom y pipe for $120, so far so good. Should have put poly MM on as well, my y hits the floor slightly on hard launches.

I did the BBK chrome from ws6store (389.99)... Pretty easy install and no complaints after a year of daily driving / 20,000 miles...

The rasp on Pacesetter Longtubes and an ORY depending on your catback can be absolutely terrible for some people. If you are unaware, rasp is that sort of farting noise you hear on 4 cylinder cars with straight pipes under load. It sounds different on a V8 but it is very surprising if you amplify it through an exhaust like SLP loudmouth.

Also since I had pacesetters my suggestion is that you avoid them if you live anywhere that salt is put on the ground. They will lose all their coating in a single season if you live in a salty area.
