Replacing power steering pump
Anyone ever have to replace theirs? How difficult is it? Also need a new pressure line hose and really don't want to pay $500 to take it somewhere. Will be on a 01 Trans am.

I did mine a couple months back at my work(in a car audio shop) and it was pretty easy, I went ahead with a new pulley as well since mine was cracked. If you have to do this I suggest a pulley with holes cut so you can access the bolts without getting a puller every time.
I also bought a new dedicated cooler since I didn't like that the one I had went in line with the radiator. Took about 1 hour to do everything without a lift. Only spent around 200 for the new pump and pulley as well (ws6store) pretty simple and should save a good amount if money

Anyone willing to give steps? Do you have to get in from under? Is there a way to tell if you need a new reservoir before taking it off? Ive only done spark plugs and changed the alternator so this is something new for me.

Unless your resv. is cracked and leaking I dont see any reason to replace it.
1. Drain out all fluid
2. remove belt
2. remove pulley with puller you can rent from auto parts store
3. disconnect lines
4. undo the 2 mounting bolts
5. installation is reverse just dont forget to fill her back up
it may help to get a haynes book
