I have the streetsweeper ht without any head work and it is a great cam. It drives great and makes a good amount of power.

Define best? Are you looking for "max effort" or something very tame? Are you willing to flycut the pistons or not. Do you have an ET/HP goal in mind. Is the car a A4 or M6? What other mods do you have? We really can't help you out unless we know a lot more about what it is you have and want.

I had a 224/228 from Comp Cams in my LS1. It made just under 400rwhp. I would go with the Torquer v2 if I had to do it again though. Not TOO rough on the valvetrain and from what i've heard, makes some pretty decent power. Match it up with some PRC 2.5L CNC ported heads and a FAST 90/90 down the road and you SHOULD be making over 430 to the wheels, granted you have all basic bolt ons.

This guy gets it. Anything other than what is said here is just people pushing the cams they have. There are easily a few dozen cams that could be installed to fit your requirement (no head work)...

I posed this question, or a very similar one about a year ago. Here is a link to the thread:

I have the TSP 224/228 in my build plan. If you read through the thread, there is a lot of good information from some very knowledgeable members.

If your car is a dd then i suggest a cam that you wont be replacing your springs as often with lobes that are easier on your valvetrain and a cam without crazy lift. If you only drive it once in a while you could do a more aggressive setup as you wont be racking up miles
