Looking for a new ride
I'm setting out on my quest for a new ride. Specifically, I'm looking for an LS1 (of course) ws6 (98 - 02...long as its an LS1, I don't really care for the year), but I'm not interested in an A4. Since the member base here is so widespread, I thought Id get some input as far as prices. I'm in Colorado, and most ls1 f-bodies are priced a lot higher than I believe is 'fair', and I don't mind travelling for the car, so I'd like to find out what is considered 'fair" (not necessarily asking prices) in other parts of the country.
Or, perhaps I'm just out of line with what I consider fair or not. Here's a few examples of what i've been seeing around here.
02 TA WS6 M6- showroom condition - loaded 9,000 miles $25,000
01 TA WS6 M6 - excellent condition - loaded 35,000 miles $26,500
00 TA WS6 M6 - excellent condition - loaded 54,000 miles $22,995
99 TA WS6 M6 - excellent condition - loaded 29,000 miles $18000
Is it just me, or are these prices a little higher than they should be? Now, I'll pay what it's worth, and mileage isn't a huge deal, as I'll be doing some extensive motor work anyway, but even the higher miliage vehicles (75-90k '98s and '99s) are consistently priced anywhere from 17-20k. I mean, I should be able to get a solid ls1 for a much lower ballpark than above shouldn't I?
Edit - Private seller prices are on par with used dealer prices.
