new oil pan, no dipstick

Default new oil pan, no dipstick

im in middle of an LS(lm4) swap in my rx7

i picked up a new pan

it came with a new dipstick but there is no port or provision to install it. what am i missing?

Dip stick hole is in the engine block on the pass side. Maybe the stock dip stick doesn't reed right in that pan ???

the old oil pan was a front sump and the dip stick was in the pan near the front.

went back out to look and it seems like i have to drill a hole. there is an extruded part near the rear just above the seam. ill take a photo of it when there is more light to verify before i drill anything.

Had to do this with the LS7 block since it was setup for a dry sump.
